The Sociable Barstool — pull up a seat
With its soft edges and organic shape, the Sociable Barstool is truly comfortable. We reserve our Sociable name for Kvik Living products that especially embody our Danish design DNA and the Sociable Barstool is most deserving of this name.
Inspired by the pebbles on the Danish beaches, Barley's oval shape imitates the design you also find on the handle in our popular Ombra kitchen. The curved oak veneer gives the Sociable Barstool a light expression in a comfortable barstool that's the perfect height for our kitchens.
We have created two classic and stylish versions of the Sociable Barstool — light oak and dark oak. These colours match our kitchens, and let you create a complete, harmonious Danish design look in your home.
The Sociable Barstool is made from high quality oak, that's FSC® certified. The lacquered oak is beautiful, strong and easy to wipe off.
Jigger - designed for our kitchens
A combination of three elements — metal, wood and fabric — into one beautiful whole is the essence of Barley. The key to this is the appealing colour combinations between materials. With its versatile Danish design expression, Jigger fits into a wide variety of interior styles.
High quality materials
Although Jigger appears slim, the material is strong and exudes quality. Its slim silhouette is created with precision and has a strong construction. The fabric is stain and water resistant, which makes it easy to maintain and made of recycled materials. In line with the Danish design tradition, we have chosen a beautiful oak veneer of the highest quality that’s, of course, FSC® certified, like all the wood in our products. The lacquered oak is beautiful, strong and easy to clean.
Comfortable seating — the perfect back support
Although we have been picky about the quality and used hard steel, Jigger also has a soft side. Both the seat and the back are well padded and this provides true comfort. The backrest provides just the extra support you need if you like to sit for a long time at your kitchen island or counter. And its low backrest fits perfectly underneath the worktop when it’s not in use.

Meet the designers
We joined forces with the Danish design company Says Who to develop our Ombra kitchen back in 2020. Nikolaj Duve and Casper Meldgaard's roots in the long Danish design tradition were the perfect match for our own at Kvik. They were inspired by nature - bracing walks along a windy, rocky Danish beach, strewn with pebbles made smooth by the waves, and by nature's own palette of rich greens. They kept the inspiration going when they designed our two barstools.
