With its soft edges and organic shape, the Sociable Barstool is truly comfortable. We reserve our Sociable name for Kvik Living products that especially embody our Danish design DNA and the Sociable Barstool is most deserving of this name.
Inspired by the pebbles on the Danish beaches, Barley's oval shape imitates the design you also find on the handle in our popular Ombra kitchen. The curved oak veneer gives the Sociable Barstool a light expression in a comfortable barstool that's the perfect height for our kitchens.
We have created two classic and stylish versions of the Sociable Barstool — light oak and dark oak. These colours match our kitchens, and let you create a complete, harmonious Danish design look in your home.
The Sociable Barstool is made from high quality oak, that's FSC® certified. The lacquered oak is beautiful, strong and easy to wipe off.
Kvik C05 barstool - designed for our kitchens
The Kvik C05 barstool brings together three elements — metal, wood, and fabric — in one cohesive and beautifully balanced design. Its harmonious mix of materials and colours gives it a versatile Danish expression that fits effortlessly into a wide range of interiors.
Despite its slim silhouette, the C05 is built to last. The strong steel frame is paired with high-quality, FSC®-certified oak veneer and a soft, durable fabric made from recycled materials. The upholstery is both stain- and water-resistant, making the stool as practical as it is elegant.
Designed for comfort as well as style, the C05 features a padded seat and a supportive backrest that make long conversations at the kitchen island a pleasure. The low back tucks neatly under the counter when not in use — a thoughtful detail that reflects true Danish design thinking.

Meet the designers
We joined forces with the Danish design company Says Who to develop our Ombra kitchen back in 2020. Nikolaj Duve and Casper Meldgaard's roots in the long Danish design tradition were the perfect match for our own at Kvik. They were inspired by nature - bracing walks along a windy, rocky Danish beach, strewn with pebbles made smooth by the waves, and by nature's own palette of rich greens when they designed our Ombra kitchen. They kept the inspiration going when they designed our two barstools.
