Sorting your trash? The key word is "easy"

Every country and even local city has special rules for sorting trash. Our organising options will help you keep your trash sorted and sustainable, no matter the rules you need to follow!

You are doing your best for the planet already, naturally - but in your new kitchen, your best can be a little better - and a lot easier. The trash sorting options you decide on when designing your dream kitchen with one of our kitchen consultants can form the sustainable efforts of your whole family for the next 20 years.

Design your habits

There is no machine for sorting trash; you do it automatically. And you can make it ten times more manageable if you give yourself a proper trash sorting system – thus creating better and easier habits! We suggest you choose a system that is:

  • Placed and positioned at the optimal working height
  • Easily accessible for sorting
  • Minimal effort when emptying
  • Managing good hygiene and reducing any smells
  • Aligned with local requirements

That is why we at Kvik have trash sorting systems that, even though they aren't rocket science, offer an intelligent way for you to to easily sort trash now – and in the future.

In the middle of my dream kitchen?

Yes – we suggest you sort your trash into the correct categories as soon as possible - meaning when you rinse the broccoli, peel red beets, and trim your leeks - you can discard your organic leftovers and the packaging all in the same flow. It makes sense to have all the different bins ready and waiting.

A dedicated trash cabinet makes all the difference

In a standard kitchen, you'll usually find the bin under the sink cabinet – which makes sense because that's the busiest work zone. But it means you have to step back to access it - and block it for others when busy at the sink. A more intelligent solution is a dedicated trash cabinet with a telescope drawer, with sorting bins at a good height and accessible from two sides. When it's not in use, it is closed and calm.

Centrally placed for all to share

A Kvik trash cabinet is slim and can be placed in whichever part of the kitchen you'd prefer - but we recommend placing it centrally, so it's accessible from more than one work zone.

Sustainable - from both sides

A dedicated trash cabinet is typically half the width of the other cabinets, and can be placed wherever you like in the kitchen. The Cube system inside can be adapted to the number of sorting categories needed in your local area.

Great thinking inside the boxes

The CUBE system is versatile and optimises your space

- and the square shape means you can combine modules to fit your present - and future - trash needs.

If a trash cabinet is not an option...

...in your kitchen, the cube system also offers state of the art modular solutions to be placed under the sink of any Kvik sink cabinet

Typical for danish design

The form has many functions: Square to optimise space, a robust but sleek lid to handle hygiene and smell, and a sturdy handle to make trash exciting and hassle-free

If your kitchen has special requirements

Perhaps you have some space limitations or even aren't keen on having your trash on show. If that's the case you might consider the wall mounted, innovative RecCollector system that breaks with traditional approaches and makes use of a wall – while being just as handy and versatile as the Cube system.
