We make timeless Danish design with high quality materials. Our commitment extends beyond aesthetics. It’s about creating products that endure. Our extended warranties reflect our strong belief in long lasting products.

Recycled PET foils
In 2021, we introduced new foils to our laminate fronts – containing a minimum of 12 recycled PET bottles per front. This marks a significant milestone in our efforts to provide products made from recycled materials and reduce our environmental impact. By recycling plastic bottles, we can help reduce the large amount of plastic waste in the world — and every little effort matters.
Our biggest challenge was developing this new foil from recycled PET bottles, all while maintaining the quality, affordability, and durability of our products. Because emphasising recycled materials shouldn’t limit your options or increase your costs when buying a new kitchen.
What is PET?
PET, Polyethylene Terephthalate, is a versatile plastic and material often used for making plastic bottles.
In 2023, Kvik has given 6,501,287 plastic bottles a new life within the kitchen industry!
Recycled MDF
Did you know we were the first Danish kitchen company to use recycled MDF in our kitchens?
Embracing recycled MDF in our kitchen designs was a groundbreaking choice we made to help us lower our environmental impact. But it wasn’t without challenges. Crafting an attractive, durable design using 100% recycled MDF proved impractical — so we learned that a combination of recycled and virgin materials was the way to go.
Our MDF-based products containing recycled MDF are made from a combination of virgin wood fibers on the outer surface of the panel for the best visual look, while the inner core of the panel is made from recycled wood fibres. It’s a harmonious blend that reflects our commitment to both quality and lowering our impact.
Chipboard
Chipboard, also known as particle board, is made from reconstituted wood. These fibres are compressed and bonded together using resin. Interestingly, chipboard can be produced from recycled wood waste, which means that your new kitchen potentially could contain parts from previous kitchens.
We actively work with our suppliers to set higher standards, aiming to reduce our environmental impact. Chipboard plays a crucial role in this effort. Its climate impact is among the lowest of our materials due to its energy-efficient production process and reduced binder material requirements. While chipboard lacks the strength of solid wood or MDF, it remains an affordable and reliable choice. So don’t worry — our kitchen designs containing chipboard, both virgin and recycled, come with the exact same extended warranties, as we carefully test them to ensure lasting quality.
Certified wood
Solid wood has a timeless appeal — it’s both durable and beautiful. When we bring wood into our homes, it creates a warm and inviting atmosphere that no other material can quite match. But if it's not sourced responsibly, the environmental impact poses a real threat to our environment.
Deforestation is a major CO2 emissions contributor, harming wildlife habitats and local communities. We avoid participating in this harmful practice by ensuring responsible wood sourcing through certification schemes.
Today, all the wood used in our products is sourced from certified forestry from two different certification schemes. That means that the wood in our products comes from areas where flora and fauna are protected, new trees are planted at (at least) the same rate as the fully grown trees are felled. And the forest workers are paid a fair wage and have safe working conditions.
In 2023, Kvik used 8,564 tons of recycled wood in our products!
A kitchen with good intentions
— wants to look good. Also in 10 years
We acknowledge that designing kitchens for prolonged lifetime is the key to reducing our climate footprint. When the materials in our kitchens last longer, there’s less need for frequent replacements, reducing waste and minimising the environmental impact throughout the kitchen's lifecycle. Which is exactly why the choice of materials plays a significant role in the durability of our kitchens.
While our commitment to using recycled materials is strong, it's not easy to make a durable product that doesn't compromise on quality, design or price. That’s why we blend recycled materials with virgin ones — allowing you to enjoy Danish design at surprisingly low prices without compromising the durability of products that contain recycled elements.
— likes a good facelift
You can also take an active role in minimising the overall impact when you need a new kitchen. One way is to revitalise your kitchen by upcycling — whether it's changing cabinet fronts, a new worktop or adding personal touches. This approach not only extends the kitchen’s lifespan but also reduces the environmental footprint compared to a full kitchen replacement. This way, you can enjoy your upgraded kitchen for years to come.
